For the remodel of an interior designers own home, a typical suburban ranch-style house was transformed with very large-scale windows and openings, capturing verdant views of the outdoors and connecting interior spaces with the exterior in surprisingly dramatic ways. In order to contrast with the rich, bold layering of the interior design, the architecture needed to remain simple and straightforward, honoring the humble roots of the house, while also being equally bold and dramatic.
